Teaching

Environmental Justice, Ruskin College, Oxford

On 18 October 2007, FIELD held a one-day course on environmental justice in international relations for potential leaders from the trade union movement and from non-governmental organisations in Eastern Europe. The day was part of a week-long course organised by the Webb Institute for Leadership in Democracy at Ruskin College Oxford and was attended by twelve participants from the Ukraine, Georgia and the Russian Federation.

FIELD, in collaboration with Capacity Global, holds regular residential courses on environmental justice at Ruskin College in Oxford. While poor and marginalised communities all over the world are most exposed to environmental risks and degradation they are usually the worst represented in decisions that affect their natural and built environment. The course provides a unique forum to learn about and discuss issues around poverty, equality and the environment in the UK, Europe and globally.

Next course dates are: 27th-29th February and 28th-30th May 2008.
