Human Rights and the Environment

'Economic, Social and Cultural Rights: Justification, Enforceability and Legal Challenges': From 5-6 December 2005, FIELD presented at an international conference, 'Economic, Social and Cultural Rights: Justification, Enforceability and Legal Challenges' in Santiago, Chile, on human rights and the environment. The conference was organised by the School of Law at the University Diego Portales in Chile.

Roundtable on Human Rights and the Environment: On 12 March 2004, FIELD attended a roundtable discussed on the progress to date of environmental human rights from the legal, political and practical perspective. Around 60 participants from Permanent Missions in Geneva, IGOs and NGOs, academic institutions and private sectors joined the discussion. The panel members were Yves Lador (Earthjustice), Prof. Marc Pallemaerts (Chair, Meeting of the Parties, Aarhus Convention); Prof. Philippe Sands QC (Matrix Chambers); Dr. Jona Razzaque (FIELD) and Stefano Sensi (OHCHR).
