MEAs explained

In July 2010, FIELD organised a workshop in Trinidad and Tobago on Multilateral Environmental Agreements (MEAs) for representatives from several national ministries. The objectives of the workshop were to help participants understand the basic principles of international environmental law and familiarise them with several major MEAs.

REDD-plus briefing paper

FIELD has prepared a short briefing paper to assist developing country negotiators who are working on REDD-plus. The briefing paper focuses on the UNFCCC negotiations taking place from 2-6 August in Bonn, Germany. The paper is available in English and will soon be available in French and Spanish.

FIELD workshop on international decision making

FIELD held a workshop on international decision making following Copenhagen on 24-25 March. The workshop, which brought together representatives of governments, research institutes, NGOs, academia and media, was held under the Chatham House Rule of non-attribution.

FIELD in Copenhagen

4 December 2009 – FIELD is disappointed at the lack of progress in the international climate change negotiations and the failure of developed countries to commit to ambitious emissions cuts. FIELD staff are working with small island states, least developed countries and other developing countries at the UN Copenhagen Climate Change Conference.

FIELD celebrates 20 years

FIELD celebrated its 20th anniversary on 15 October, 2009 in London. More than 100 guests came to hear FIELD founders James Cameron and Philippe Sands be interviewed by environment correspondent Alex Kirby and a panel discussion on ‘Prospects for the UN Copenhagen Climate Change Conference’.
