Consultations in Bonn continue
10 August 2009 - FIELD staff are attending the informal international climate change
consultations, which are taking place in Bonn from 10-14 August. The consultations are
an opportunity for governments to advance negotiations on: the ‘revised negotiating
text', a 199-page document under discussion among parties to the Climate Change
Convention, which include the US; and other documents under discussion by parties to
the Kyoto Protocol, which does not include the US. FIELD staff are assisting small
island states and other developing countries on issues such as adaptation to climate
change impacts and Reducing Emissions from Deforestation and Forest Degradation
(REDD). More information about the informal consultations is available at the official
UNFCCC secretariat website www.unfccc.int
