New experience
Trinidadian Lindsay Hosein, former intern of FIELD, has taken up new duties as Judicial Research Assistant at the Caribbean Court of Justice in Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago. Lindsay's duties now include conducting research for the President and Judges of the Caribbean Court of Justice and providing general assistance with any legal work at the Court.
Lindsay joined FIELD in January 2008, after having completed Master's degree in Environmental Law at King's College London. For a recent environmental law student, FIELD was a great opportunity to experience the legal work in practice.
"My time at FIELD was invaluable because of my exposure to the global environmental issues that arise. Having had little practical experience I appreciated the opportunity to utilise some of my academic learning in a practical setting."
While at FIELD, Lindsay worked on various projects, including oil and gas in Uganda, World Intellectual Property Organisation and indigenous people, as well as the public interest litigation project.
"I found the Uganda oil and gas policy research particularly interesting and relevant, as Trinidad and Tobago is an oil and gas producer as well. For me, it was exciting to learn to understand how a state's policy is being developed and how it can be assessed."
FIELD wishes Lindsay all the best in her future career!
