Multilateral Environmental Agreements

In the last two decades a great change has taken place in international relations. Many new Multilateral Environmental Agreements (MEAs) have come into existence, transforming how countries all over the world deal with environmental issues. This rapid change in international relations is still under way.

It offers an important opportunity to create a fair and effective international environmental governance system. There is also a risk that the new system will not be strong enough to tackle today’s environmental challenges. Small and vulnerable countries also struggle to make their concerns heard.

MEA Training

Apart from our regular work on MEAs, FIELD also offers short term workshops and courses on international environmental law and Multilateral Environmental Agreements. Download our MEA Training brochure and find out more.
