Information Package on the Implementation of the CBD in the Pacific Islands Region

SPREP, WWF-SPP and FIELD collaborated on this Darwin Initiative project to produce an information package on the legal aspects of implementing the CBD within the South Pacific region. The draft information package formed the basis of a one week workshop held in Nadi, Fiji, in March 1998. This workshop brought together conservation agency officials and lawyers from fourteen Pacific island countries, as well as regional intergovernmental institutions and NGOs to consider implementation strategies. The information package was subsequently disseminated widely within the region and also made available online.
